It’s a pleasant surprise and helps elevate this pint over what it might have been with a simple default sweet cream or vanilla base. But this pint does have a strong flavor-almond. Spirulina is a mostly flavorless blue-green algae used for coloring this pint. Blue Spirulina Almond Ice Cream: The light blue base is a visual reference to the oceans of planet Earth.
